yay!!!!! I am in love with green day as you can see in my header and back ground!Yea mabey i should chill out with my explanation marks.Any way so lets get started.
1986 Billy joe armstrong(singer and guitarist), and mike dirnt(bassist) started there band in there home town Rodeo california at the age of 14 and called there selfs the Sweet children. in 1989 they recruted Al Sobrant which helped them get alot of shows and they also changed there self to green day.Then they released “10000” hours that got the band more popular.they were about to release another album but then Al quit so they got Tre cool(My favorite!!!!!!!!)to be the drummer XD!!!!!so thru out the early 90’s and in 1992 they released there 2 album “Kerplunk”which got them really popular!Then “dookie” came out with the song “longview’ which got that album a hit.Then through out the summer the band got even more popular, and the seconed hit single “basket case” went viral, which made the top charts of modern rock in 1995.around agust/ september they got a show at wood stock which made this album go every were!!!!!!!!!When the song ”when i come around” came out they stayed in the top modern rock charts for round seven weeks.the album Dookie was every were 5 million copys were sold in us alone!which was 11 million internationally!!so in 1994 dookie won a grammy award for best alternitive music performance.Then in the fall of 1995 insomniac also made green day hit the top charts again.Green day was so beloved that they hit 2 in the charts of all music.I gess you could say that there were either alot of people in the us or that green day was that good maybe both:)!!!!!!!!!!!!!, so in 1996 the two radio favoritse “brain stew”, and “Jaded” were as popular as thoses from the album “dookie”.But then there was some bad news, the band cancelled there tour to European because they said that they were tired and needed a break( i mean who would’nt with all theses fans all over them), but there were some good news that went along with the horrifing news.Since green day had a lot of time on there hands they got to get thinking and wrote a lot more songs which made there alltement album Nimrod which got them even more fans. 80,000 copys were sold in the first week, so they were really recinized by this point.the first hit single was “hichin a ride” which made3 them number 5 on modern rock charts.Then there was the most beloved song feturing bille with his acustic it starts with “time” and ends with “life”, you gessed it “time of your life”!!!!!They even got to play there song at the end of one of the last episodes of senfield.the song was also played on three other shows.
